Small Personal Curiosities

She starts bullet journals, two weeks into January
So they don’t have to be perfect.

She reads poetry only found far down on social media,
The kind where truths are buried only for the 3 am world weary,
To help her when she’s lonely.

She holds a stethoscope to her own chest, listening to the endless tapping,
So it remembers to feel alive.

She orders her coffee iced, in the dead of December,
For the chill seeping from the thin plastic pairs well with fingerless gloves,
And a sweater from the sale rack.

She waves goodbye to videos and their creators as they say their happy goodbyes,
To ensure they don’t feel so alone.

She dons a tee shirt with a button-up skirt and too-big sweater,
To remember that uniqueness is a gift.

She starts bullet journals, two weeks into January
So they don’t have to be perfect.

I hope this made at least a semblance of sense to you all! It was another of those either really late night or really early morning creations where inspiration struck me out of left field when I was brushing my teeth or some such nonsense. I hope you liked it nonetheless! I can quite a time trying to title it.

I hope you’re having a wonderful January,
~ Of Rainy days
